It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the new Aboriginal Nurses Manitoba Inc. web site. The web site has been developed to serve as a means of communicating information of who we are and what we do. Our website offers a number of different areas for you to browse through.
We are a relatively new voluntary organization and are currently in the process of development. As Aboriginal nurses, we are unique as we share a common history, linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Collectively, we are on the front lines in our communities and it is through our experience, we are able to bridge the gap between the traditional and western perspectives. We will also strive to advocate for the people we serve, and do our best to communicate and advance the nursing issues to our political organizations.
I look forward to meeting with Aboriginal Nurses from across the province and hearing what you have to say. I invite you to share stories about your nursing experience, challenges you face, or any other topic that may be of interest to you.
Respectively,
Caroline Chartrand
President
Aboriginal Nurses Manitoba Inc.
